Freebox Delta a 'huge success' as it reaches significant milestone

Launched only three months ago by innovative European telecoms/pay-tv operator, Free – the Freebox Delta has already hit the 100,000 subscriber mark.

Packed full of features including Audio Analytic's sound recognition technology, Alexa, Netflix, 4K TV and speakers from prestigious audio company Devialet, the product has been described today by Free co-founder Xavier Niel as a “huge success”.

In a competitive market with focus on intense competitive pricing, the Freebox Delta has proven that the right combination of high-value features can be a big success with customers and commentators alike.

At the end of February, US tech site Engadget described the product as “…a product ahead of its time”. Engadget’s Steve Dent also described it as “…an elegant and innovative product, with features never before offered by operators anywhere”.

“It is great to see how the market has responded to the Freebox Delta. The combination of sound quality, content and artificial intelligence – through our sound recognition and Amazon’s Alexa – has obviously struck a chord with consumers who recognise its incredible value,” added Audio Analytic CEO Dr Chris Mitchell.

Free is a part of the Iliad Group, one of Europe’s leading telecoms companies, which saw its share price increase by 3.91% (at the point of writing) on the back of these impressive results.
