Get on board with wacky b2b fundraiser

Cambridge businesses are being urged to take the plunge and sign up for an unconventional networking event in aid of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

The second Wacky Races Team Challenge will give 10 companies the chance to go head to head in a canoe relay at Milton Country Park on Saturday 1st June.

The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity will be entering its own team in this year's fun-filled event, building on the success of Wacky Races 2012 which raised more than £3000.

Dr Lynn Morgan, chief executive of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, said: “This year's Wacky Races will build on the success of the 2012 event, which was great fun and raised the profile of our charity and the businesses which took part. Wacky Races 2013 promises to be even bigger and better, and the funds raised will make a huge difference to our cause.”

Businesses which take part in Wacky Races will be encouraged to make a £500 pledge to the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. The quirky obstacle course on the lake will blend teambuilding with a relaxed approach to meeting other likeminded companies, enabling more natural relationships to form.

Katie Schlette, a recruitment consultant for Cooper Lomaz, was involved in last year's Wacky Races. She said: “We'll definitely be applying to enter this year's event as it provides a fantastic environment for networking. The race is competitive but fun and is a world away from the usual business breakfasts.”

Wacky Races is organised by brand communications specialists Method.
