Get involved in National Apprenticeship Week

For National Apprenticeship Week, the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has launched ‘Back 2 the Floor’ – a campaign to emphasise the importance of apprenticeships to local growth and encourage more businesses in the local area to offer them.

The LEP is calling on local businesses to go ‘Back 2 the Floor’ either in your own organisation, or by trying out the career you dreamed about in your youth, but never pursued.

Why get involved?

This campaign will not only offer you the chance to gain first-hand experience of a modern apprenticeship, but also give you an opportunity to gain a new perspective on skills development within your own organisation.

By getting involved with this scheme, you and your business will demonstrate a clear commitment to helping local people gain apprenticeships in the right roles, and also benefit from promotional activities that accompany the scheme. What’s more, if you choose to try out a new line of work, the LEP can help organise the placement.

All the LEP asks is that you pledge either a half or whole day to go back to the floor during National Apprenticeship week, which runs from Monday 9 – Friday 13 March 2015, and then let the team capture and share your experience.

Keep an eye on the website and @YourLEP throughout the week as they will be sharing videos, photos and blogs from a wide range of people who have taken on the challenge to go #Back2TheFloor.

If you’d like to get involved, please contact Laura Welham-Halstead or Louise Bellwood at the LEP via phone (01480 277180) or email [email protected].
