Greater Cambridge Partnership launches public consultations

The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) has launched two public consultations on proposals to help people move in and around Cambridge easily and more sustainably.

Making connections_ GCP brochure cover: Have your say on greener travel in Cambridgeshire

The first – Making Connections – is asking for people’s views on proposals to radically enhance bus and active travel journeys, while the second – Cambridge Eastern Access – offers more specific proposals for improving cycling and walking journeys along Newmarket Road.

The Making Connections consultation closes on 20 December.

The Cambridge Eastern Access consultation closes on 22 December.

The GCP will be holding public events where attendees can discover more about the consultations. The events will consist of presentations from the project teams and an opportunity to ask questions.

Public consultation events:

  • Tuesday 9 November, 5-6.45pm and 7-8.45pm

  • Wednesday 1 December, 4-5.45pm and 6-7.45pm

The Abbey Stadium, Newmarket Road, Cambridge, CB5 8LN (please use Cutthroat Lane)

Please register to attend here

Both events will be in person and there are two separate sessions on each evening. Each session will include a presentation on each of the two consultations, followed by a question-and-answer session.

The GCP is asking people to register online to ensure Covid-19 guidelines are followed. The event space will be sanitised between sessions and all GCP employees will be wearing facemasks whenever they are not presenting.

It says: "We will also be hosting further events online throughout the consultation period, and these are advertised on the consultation links above.
