Green Custard takes first place in Amazon Web Services’ global hackathon

Green Custard Ltd, an award-winning professional services consultancy specialising in IoT and AWS Infrastructure, has been declared the winner of the AWS CloudFormation Hackathon 2021.

The company was invited to participate in this global competition open only to a specialist group of AWS partners accredited with AWS CloudFormation Service Delivery status.

Running over the course of a month, and geared towards solution architects and developers, the principal aims of the hackathon were to (a) reinforce the merits of AWS CloudFormation as a fundamental infrastructure and application development tool, and (b) to introduce the newly launched AWS CloudFormation Public Registry to partners.

Green Custard’s competition entry addressed the security, performance, and interoperability challenges around synchronising external source code repositories with the AWS ecosystem. The company’s R&D team subsequently used their findings to develop a AWS CloudFormation resource to automate a number of common DevOps tasks and to speed up deployments and reduce overall costs for end customers. GC’s winning solution and supporting documentation were identified by the hackathon judges as being the most comprehensive.

“To come first from a field of over 70 highly qualified entrants is a huge achievement and we’re super proud of the result,” says James Green, Co-Owner and Director of Green Custard. “Our talented engineering team was able to develop a complete solution and produce all the supporting documentation well within the competition timeframe and we hope that other developers discover it on the registry and find it useful.”

Green Custard’s engineering team members has received numerous AWS-specific accreditations and certifications which demonstrates their in-depth understanding of AWS managed services and their technical knowhow, both of which are essential for designing, deploying, and operating cloud applications and infrastructure.

Green Custard’s winning resource is now available on Amazon’s newly launched AWS CloudFormation Public Registry. Further information can also be found on Green Custard’s website.
