The Disputes team (comprising specialist commercial disputes, construction, real estate litigation and regulatory sub-teams) has had another stellar year, working on several high-value, complex and high-profile cases for regional, national and global clients.

Joseph Kosky joins the team at partner level, having previously worked for Locke Lord.  Joseph has significant experience of all types of civil and commercial disputes, particularly with a cross-border element. He has an outstanding reputation for his work involving businesses and private individuals in the Middle East.  Joseph said “I am delighted to join an extremely ambitious team and firm with a clear strategy for growth. In particular, I look forward to collaborating with other members of the team to continue building our expertise and referral network in the Middle East.”

Euan Palmer also joins the team as a partner.  After originally qualifying and practising in New Zealand, Euan moved to the UK in 2001.  Euan joins us from Rosling King.  As well as working on many commercial disputes based in the UK, Euan has considerable experience in international disputes, with a particular focus on the oil & gas industry, and has represented clients in the UK High Courts, and in international arbitrations including ICC and LCIA. Euan said, “I am eager to get started and work with Huw and the team - the cases they are currently working on are interesting and challenging.”

James Dyche re-joins the team having very recently left to experience working for a media firm in London.  James is an associate who will work closely with the growing team in London and Peterborough.

Davina Bentley joins the team as an associate, having worked as a disputes lawyer at various international law firms.  Davina will also be based in London.

Head of Disputes Huw Wallis said: “These are extremely exciting times for the Disputes team.  Since I joined in 2012, the team has grown significantly, and we are an ambitious team with a clear strategy for further growth.  Finding the right “fit” for Greenwoods GRM is key: we are the “lawyers you enjoy working with” and each team member brings different expertise and styles of working.  I’m excited about the new opportunities that Joseph and Euan will bring, particularly with regard to work in the Middle East and the oil & gas sector.  I also know that it is essential to have the right team structure in place, including finding high-quality junior lawyers who can support on our large matters under supervision, but also have the autonomy to work flexibly and develop their own specialisms. The team is in great shape, but we’re not stopping here, we plan to make further significant lateral hires imminently.”
