As part of a combined utility solution, GTC will be providing superfast fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks to all new homes on the development. GTC’s fibre solution has been chosen to offer the homeowner the highest available speeds at the lowest possible cost.
Paul Summers, Regional Sales Manager at GTC, says: “Unlike fibre to the cabinet (FTTC), fibre to the home does not suffer from declining speeds with distance from the exchange. Laying fibre optic cable right to each home ensures homeowners will be able to enjoy the best of today’s fibre offerings and know that the network is future proofed to support further advances in technology. The fibre connection will be fully installed and ready for use when the homeowner moves in.”
Essential gas and electricity infrastructure will also be provided by GTC to a total of 1,134 plots. GTC’s expertise will manage the complex coordination of the removal of redundant infrastructure and construction of new connections to new homes and existing properties.
The site is being developed by Bovis Homes and The Dorchester Group. Testament to its strong long-term relationships and proven track record with the leading house builders, GTC has been selected to deliver on this important multi-utility site by both developers. Bovis Homes and The Dorchester Group will benefit from ease of delivery with just one provider for all three services across the entire development.

About GTC
GTC is a nationwide provider of utility infrastructure to the new-build market and provides cost-effective Gas, Electricity, Water and Fibre to the Home (FTTH) networks, along with sustainable solutions.
Over the past decade, GTC has become one of Britain’s biggest providers of utility infrastructure. GTC works with all the main house builders, consultants and major developers in the British mainland new-build market. Currently over 1.6 million homes and commercial premises are connected or contracted-to-be connected to a GTC network.
GTC operates and maintains networks, whether built by its own construction teams or by other accredited infrastructure providers. GTC operates the gas networks and meters for GTC Pipelines Ltd (GPL), Independent Pipelines Limited (IPL), Quadrant Pipelines Limited (QPL) and Independent Meters Limited (IML); the electricity networks for The Electricity Network Company Ltd (ENC) and Independent Power Networks Limited (IPNL); and for Fibre to the Homes, Independent Next Generation Networks Limited (INGNL) in association with Independent Fibre Networks Limited (IFNL).
Because of this on-going responsibility, GTC ensures that exacting construction standards are adhered to from the outset.
GTC holds all four Lloyd's utility technical accreditations:
- Water Industry Registration Scheme (WIRS)
- Multi Utility Recognition Status (MURS)
- Gas Industry Registration Scheme (GIRS)
- National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS)
