Hatley Labs has launched as an independent hardware testing lab serving electronics teams across the UK and Europe, providing structured, objective testing for electronic, electrical, and battery-powered hardware.

The lab offers a range of testing services including battery performance and capacity testing, X-ray inspection of PCB assemblies and components, PCB and PCBA inspection, thermal analysis, power and efficiency profiling, and electronic component analysis. Bespoke test programmes are also available for non-standard requirements.

Hatley Labs is structured differently from traditional testing laboratories. All standardised tests can be ordered directly through the company's website, with pricing shown upfront and no requirement for a prior telephone call or formal quote request. The standard turnaround from receipt of hardware is 3 to 5 working days, with a Fast Track service available for urgent requirements.

The lab is based in Hatley St George and situated between Cambridge and Bedford and within easy reach of the A1 corridor.

Commenting on the launch, Tristan Hughes, co-founder of Hatley Labs said: "Hardware teams across the Cambridge region and beyond often tell us the same thing — getting independent testing done is slower and more complicated than it needs to be. We built Hatley Labs to remove that friction. You can order a test the same way you would order anything else online, ship your hardware to us, and have a structured report back within days. For teams in active product development, that difference in turnaround time is significant."
