The expedition is part of Homeward Bound, a groundbreaking leadership initiative for women in STEMM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics and Medicine), set against the backdrop of Antarctica. It aims to heighten the leadership capability of women to enhance their influence and impact on policy and decision making around the sustainability of our planet.
Homeward Bound’s strategic ambitions are:
- “Every woman participating must be able to lead more effectively as a result.”
- “Every woman participating understands we are stronger together.”
- “Homeward Bound has an impact on our world.”
As part of this phenomenal opportunity, each woman must raise over $16,000 USD* to cover the costs of the voyage and leadership programme.
Can you help?
Your donation will support Hannah's and Catherine's (Homeward Bound Cambridge) participation. It starts with a year-long programme developing leadership, strategy, visibility and science communication skills and culminates in a three-week expedition to Antarctica. Homeward Bound aims to build a global network of women in science and to collaborate for a more sustainable future.
Cambridge Network members could also part sponsor their expedition and help to raise the final £16,000 to reach their target.

They have already spoken at local schools, the London Stock Exchange, been featured in the Cambridge News and as part of the 21st Century Women series for Cambridge 105. Homeward Bound itself has been featured on CNN, BBC and CBC news, to name a few.
