Hewitsons announces new Partner

Law firm Hewitsons has announced that Rebecca Austin has been promoted to Partner.

Rebecca joined Hewitsons as a Risk and Compliance Solicitor in March 2011 to undertake a firm wide role working alongside Partner Simon Biggin in the Compliance team. She plays an active role in the implementation of the firm’s risk management procedures, as well as investigating compliance issues raised by clients.  Her promotion takes the number of partners at Hewitsons up to 40.

Colin Jones, Managing Partner at Hewitsons LLP, said: “Our congratulations go to Rebecca on her well-deserved promotion to Partner. Over the past four years she has worked diligently on a range of compliance issues, demonstrating great sensitivity with clients and colleagues alike. She has implemented new systems, and revised others, all of which continues to put the firm in a better position to consistently deliver a high quality service to our clients.”

Commenting on her promotion, Rebecca said: “It’s a great achievement to be a Partner within such a well-respected law firm. I’ve enjoyed my career at Hewitsons immensely and look forward to all the challenges still ahead of me.”

Rebecca read Ancient History at the University of London and took her Common Professional Examination (CPE) with the College of Law. She then undertook her Legal Practice Course (LPC) with the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice.  Rebecca is also the Cambridge Big Firms representative for the Cambridgeshire & District Law Society.
