Hewitsons expands team with new corporate appointment

Leading law firm Hewitsons has announced the appointment of a new corporate solicitor, Venetia Phipps.

Venetia joins the Cambridge office at a busy time for the team which advised Quartix Holdings plc on its AIM flotation in November and acted for the selling shareholders on the recently announced sale of January’s and Bradshaws to Carter Jonas. Currently the corporate team is handling a number of substantial ongoing transactions, notably in the cleantech arena.

Venetia also brings with her solid experience across the charities and education sectors, having worked for a number of education institutions, from state funded academies to independent schools, and major charities. She is also a trustee of the education charity Futureversity.

The appointment adds further experience and knowledge to Hewitsons’ expanding team, already recognised as a market leader by legal directories such as Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

Colin Jones, Managing Partner at Hewitsons, said: “The appointment of Venetia comes at an exciting time for Hewitsons, as we continue to grow our team and lead the way across several key practice areas. Venetia’s experience and expertise ensures that our growing list of clients will continue to benefit from our specialist legal advice.”

Commenting on her appointment, Venetia said: “I am delighted to be joining Hewitsons. The team has a wealth of expertise and a fantastic range of clients across many different sectors, and I look forward to working with and building upon their growing client base.”
