Published yesterday (2 November), the firm has achieved highly in several areas of practice, as well as retaining strong positions across the board for each regional office.
The firm retained strong positions across 12 specialist practice areas in the 2018 guide. These were:
- Agriculture and estates (Northampton) Band 1
- Agriculture and rural affairs (Cambridge) Band 2
- Construction (East Anglia) Band 2
- Corporate/M&A (East Midlands) Band 1
- Environment (East Anglia) Band 1
- Intellectual Property (East Anglia) Band 1
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution (East Anglia) Band 2
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution (Midlands) Band 4
- Planning (East Anglia) Band 3, Real Estate (East Anglia) Band 3
- Real Estate Litigation (Easy Anglia) Band 2
Furthermore, 20 lawyers at the firm were ranked in the 2018 Chambers and Partners guide for their work across various specialist areas including; Intellectual Property, Agriculture & Rural Affairs, Charities, Pensions, Construction, Corporate / M&A, Environment, Planning, Litigation [inc Dispute Resolution] and Real Estate. A number which, when factoring in the strong results from the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth guide released earlier this year, has resulted in a record number of lawyers being ranked from the firm.
Notably, Agriculture lawyers Gareth Williams and Denise Wilkinson received the highest ratings of Band 1 each. Also, a number of lawyers and new starters were included in the rankings for the first time including Natalie Minott (Real Estate Litigation), Marc Carter (Real Estate) and Christopher Nuttall (Pensions).
During research for the Chambers and Partners guide, clients of the firm said: “Hewitsons are a well-recognised team that represents a diverse international and local client base.
