The services cover matters ranging from real estate and banking to agriculture and planning, among many others. They will continue to be delivered from across Hewitsons’ offices in Cambridge, London, Milton Keynes and Northampton.
To secure its reappointment, Hewitsons had to successfully demonstrate its expertise in the relevant areas of law and its ability to deliver.
The contract will now run until May 2020, when the agency will have the option to renew it for another two years.

Homes England launched in January 2018, succeeding the Homes and Communities Agency. The new, expanded agency will play a far bigger role in investing in supply and intervening in the market to help deliver 300,000 homes a year by the middle of the next decade, bringing together money, land, expertise and planning and compulsory purchase powers to accelerate the supply of new homes and address affordability issues in areas of highest demand.
The full list of Lot 1 services that Hewitsons has been reappointed to provide covers real estate; landlord and tenants; plot sales; estate management; release of restriction and consent; housing (affordable and general); procurement and state aid; planning and environment; development and construction; contracts; litigation; banking, developing finance and restructuring; mitigation, enforcement and position claims; agricultural law; and environmental law.
