Hewitsons recruits charities lawyer Martyn Robinson

Hewitsons’ charities and education team has been strengthened with the addition of Martyn Robinson, a lawyer specialising in both of these practice areas.

Martyn joins the Cambridge office with solid experience, having previously worked with different types of charitable organisations, at both a national and local level, and will add further strength and knowledge to the existing specialist team headed by Chris Knight.

The recent Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners results showed that Hewitsons was a leading UK law firm in both the charities and education practice areas. The law firm achieved a ‘UK-Wide’ ranking across ‘Charities’ and ‘Education: Institutions Higher & Further Education’ in the 2015 Chambers and Partners results, and also achieved a ‘Tier 1’ ranking for both areas in the Legal 500 rankings.

Chris Knight, who was identified as a leading charities and education lawyer in both the Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 rankings, said: “The team is excited to have Martyn joining us, ensuring our growing number of charities and education clients continue to benefit from our specialist legal advice. The team is going from strength-to-strength, so it’s fair to say that Martyn will be busy right away!”

Commenting on his appointment, Martyn said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Hewitsons, which has a wealth of expertise and a fantastic range of clients in both areas.  The charity and education sectors are a key strength of the firm, and I look forward to supporting and building on their offering in these areas.”

Charities and education is one of the firm’s key sectors. For many years it has provided a comprehensive service combining specialist charity and education law together, with lawyers in those disciplines having excellent sector awareness.
