Hewitsons supports Save the Children this Christmas

Staff from leading law firm Hewitsons have embraced the Christmas spirit by raising nearly £600 for Save the Children via a series of fundraising events throughout December.

The festive series then ended with the big reveal of a video rendition of the 12 days of Christmas by Hewitsons staff

Staff from Hewitsons’ four offices, in Cambridge, London, Milton Keynes and Northampton, congregated online to take part in a festive fundraising bonanza.

To kick off the fundraising Hewitsons partners Susanne Hinde and Rachel Sims began by hosting a firmwide Would I Lie to You quiz which, like the popular panel show, tasked staff with discovering which of a series of eccentric staff stories were true.

Hosted on Zoom, this quiz drew in over 90 staff who had to collectively vote on which story was true or false. The staff audience were master sleuths as they managed to correctly guess every story, including a true story of how one Hewitsons partner played Our Graham in a west-end production of Blind Date.

On the same day, HR consultant Sue Gibson and marketing manager Sarah Head hosted the annual Christmas jumper contest. This event saw several staff members dress in their best and most colourful festive jumpers in the hope of being crowned this year’s Christmas champion, of which agriculture partner Gareth Williams was voted the winner.

The festive series then ended with the big reveal of a video rendition of the 12 days of Christmas by Hewitsons staff (pictured).

Managing partner Colin Jones said “We continue to be impressed with the way that people across our firm are responding to the challenges of life during the COVID-19 pandemic and this activity has been particularly pleasing due to the funds which have been raised for Save the Children. It has been a difficult time for many this year and we hope that our donation will help with the work of this well-regarded charity.”

Save the Children is a UK based charity that helps vulnerable children in over 120 countries stay safe, healthy, and educated.
