Helen Deady, Lauren Coote, Alexandra Svennevik, Fiona Smith and Emily Ray have all joined the firm’s offices in Cambridge and Northampton to begin their two year training programme. While at Hewitsons, the new recruits will gain a wealth of experience in the range of different specialisms on offer at the firm.

Helen graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Law, before going on to achieve a distinction in a Legal Practice Course (LPC) and LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law in Birmingham. She will be joining the Private Wealth team in Northampton.

The Property Team in Cambridge has welcomed Lauren on board, following her three years working in Risk and Compliance in London. Lauren read Law at the University of Southampton, before completing the LPC at the University of Law in London Bloomsbury.

Alexandra has gained valuable experience in the industry while working at a law firm in Leicester. At the time, she was also studying for her LPC at the Leicester Institute of Legal Practice, where she gained a distinction. Before this, she read law at the University of Birmingham and graduated with a 2.1 in 2014. Alexandra has joined the Contentious team and will be based in Northampton.

Both Fiona and Emily are familiar faces at the firm, after progressing from being core members of the administrative support team to trainee solicitors.
Fiona first joined Hewitsons in 2014, where she worked in the Agriculture, Food and Rural team as an administrative assistant, before being promoted to a Paralegal a year later. She is now working in the Cambridge office as part of the Commercial Litigation and Risk and Compliance teams. Fiona comes with an integrated Master’s degree, which combines a Qualifying Law degree and exemption from LPC, from Northumbria University.

Emily read Politics and International Relations at Royal Holloway, University of London, before completing the GDL and then the LPC at BBP Law School in Cambridge. After this, Emily joined Hewitsons as a personal assistant in the firm’s Residential Property team. Emily joins the Agriculture, Food and Rural business team in Cambridge.

Colin Jones, Managing Partner at Hewitsons, said: “It is always a great privilege to welcome new trainee solicitors to the firm and we are excited to see how they progress and develop over the next two years. They can expect some very hands-on experience during their time here, while also being able to learn from senior members of the team.

“As always, we have an exceptionally high calibre of trainees joining the firm. We are pleased that two of our trainees have previously worked at Hewitsons in a different capacity, we are always eager to develop all talents within firm and look forward to seeing them take the next steps in their careers.”
