Hickman & Bousfield commissions Provoke Me to manage social media strategy

Recognising the importance of Social Media to engage with their audience, and with a forthcoming article in Vogue magazine - Safari Outfitters Hickman & Bousfield has appointed Cambridge based Social Media specialists Provoke Me to manage their online strategy.

Hickman & Bousfield is a high-end online fashion label specialising in safari clothing. With a niche market and superb range of products, they are attracting a huge amount of media interest - including an article in December's edition of Vogue magazine.

They recognise the importance of using Social Media to engage with their audience, but have neither the time nor the expertise to do so themselves. So following a recommendation, they appointed Cambridge based Social Media experts, Provoke Me to manage their strategy and activity on a daily basis.

Owner Caroline Hickman says, "The label is called "Hickman & Bousfield".  I wanted it to sound timeless, and kind of like it had been around for years, like the old school safari outfitters of Nairobi in the last century (people used to go on safari for 3-6 months - they would arrive in Nairobi, be measured up by a 'safari outfitters' and 2 days later their safari wardrobe would be delivered to their hotel..."

H&B knew that Social Media would play an incredibly important part in the launch of the brand and to attract customers ongoing. The kind of people who buy these outfits like to share information on Facebook or Tweet about their latest jungle exploits - so it was important that the company had a robust Social Media strategy and a strong presence with consistent, well-written content. Creating digital word-of-mouth about the company, its ethos, philosophy and products would be the aim of the strategy.

Provoke Me understood straight away what the label needed to do to achieve this and have helped to setup their Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages. Activity is currently being focussed around the forthcoming Vogue article and the number of people liking and sharing content is already increasing on a daily basis.

Provoke Me's owner, Simon Wheeler says, "Every business should be embracing Social Media. That's where your customers are spending their time, chatting, liking, sharing, engaging. Being conspicuous by your absence is not an option. And with a Social Media Management contact starting at as little as £250 per month - there's no reason why you shouldn't outsource this to the experts. We have a team of journalists wriing, locating and editing content to provide a daily source of rich features and articles as well as llocating and linking to other related businesses and pages. We turn your customers into fans!"
