The Fourth Annual Symposium will take place at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge, UK, on 27th March 2014.
This year’s symposium is called “Bigger than data – discover or die” and is aimed squarely at getting big data to work more effectively for bioinformaticians and biologists.
Big data is everywhere, spanning all aspects of life and it keeps on growing. With every advance in life sciences, more data is created. While we’re now more adept at storing, aggregating and combining large amounts of data, keeping on top of its proliferation and getting the most out of the data is imperative if organisations want to take advantage and benefit from it.
The challenge comes in two parts: physically connecting silos of biological data for effective mining, and making sense of the various experimental datasets available by analysing their metadata.
The Eagle symposium is a one-day event which will showcase available solutions from the bioinformatics community and demonstrate some real-life examples on how these challenges are being addressed by industry.
The past three Eagle symposia gave delegates the opportunity to hear from some of the biggest names in the bioinformatics from industry and academia, and the 4th symposium will be no different.
