Renewables East are running two workshops in the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP area next week to help businesses become more efficient and save money.

Sustainable Transport: Saving Money & Improving Efficiency - 11 March 2014 in Wisbech (08.45 –10.30)

Any business welcome.

Workshop will focus on

  • Reducing transport related costs and improving efficiency
  • An update on alternate fuels and electric vehicles
  • How to get your staff involved and motivated to help you reduce costs and green your fleet
  • Details of ‘Low Carbon Freight Dividend Project’ a free support programme offering grants and advice to help you identify opportunities to take freight off the road by utilising the rail and waterway networks

Energy Efficiency: Quick Wins to Save Money - 12 March 2014 in Cambridge (17.30-19.15)

Aimed at hotels, conference centres and leisure facilities (i.e. golf clubs).

The workshop will cover

  • How to create a simple energy management policy
  • How to check your energy bills are accurate and you are on the correct tariff
  • How to record and measure your energy consumption
  • How to develop  a simple energy management action plan
  • Simple no or low cost steps to reduce energy related costs
  • Examples of good AND bad practice
  • How to improve energy awareness and get your staff involved and motivated to help you reduce costs

Both workshops will include an update on financial grants that are available to help reduce costs and an overview of wider resource efficiency support and advice that is currently available.
