We are delighted to invite you to the above event run by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations in partnership with Big Society Funding CIC and Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service. It’s Our Community focuses on small community-led projects and communities coming together to deliver local solutions to local issues. We are uncovering the varying approaches and models of organisation across Europe, and exploring the support and funding needed for these kinds of grassroots projects to thrive.
During the event, we will look at how European funding has been used to fund community-led solutions to local problems, and explore how this funding might be used in the future. We will go on to discuss the characteristics and specific requirements of community-led initiatives. This event will feature a mix of workshop sessions and presentations:
Morning
- Presentation on European funding opportunities for community-led projects, and recommendations for the future ESF programme
- Community led projects sharing their examples
Afternoon
Participants contribute into the It’s Our Community research through exchange of ideas and good practice around issues such as:
- Financing and resourcing
- Capacity and skills
- Local partnerships
- Communicating impact
