Jersey holidays set to return to Cambridge Airport in 2013

Cambridge Airport has announced the return of direct holidays to Jersey from May 2013, in conjunction with independent tour operator CI Travel. The holidays have been introduced for next year due to popular demand, following the sell-out success of the operator’s first season of packages from Cambridge Airport to Jersey earlier this year.

Departing from May 2013, travellers will be able to choose from a selection of seven-night or 14-night packages to Jersey. Plus, savvy holidaymakers can take advantage of 2012 holiday prices and avoid 2013 price increases on bookings made before 31 December 2012, with packages starting from as little as £350 per person*.

Robert Mackenzie, the managing director at C.I. Travel Group said, “We had a fantastic response to our Jersey holidays when direct flights launched from Cambridge Airport this summer, so it took no time at all to decide to put summer 2013 services on sale as soon as possible.  Jersey has always been a favourite destination for UK visitors, with its enviable sunshine record, superb sandy beaches and attractions for all age groups.  We hope that even more travellers from East of England will enjoy the convenience of flying to Jersey direct from their doorstep next summer.”

Archie Garden, director at Cambridge Airport, said, “Jersey returns for summer 2013 to everyone’s delight at Cambridge Airport. CI Travel is a wonderful tour operator to partner with, and Jersey is the ideal destination for local families, couples and friends, with a warm tradition of hospitality and plenty to explore. We were thrilled to see full flights in 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed welcoming home happy and contented passengers from Jersey this year.  We can’t wait to see them take off for Jersey again from May next year.”

The return of the direct link to Jersey comes only weeks after Cambridge Airport announced it will be launching direct holidays to the Neapolitan Riviera in October 2013, in conjunction with independent tour operator Newmarket Holidays, following the success of the operator’s sell-out packages from Cambridge Airport to the Italian Lakes this year.

Ideally located only three miles from the centre of Cambridge, Cambridge Airport offers direct access from London by rail in just 45 minutes and provides a gateway for the East of England.
