Jesus College strengthens team with new Head of Hospitality

Jesus College has appointed Christopher Ogston as Head of Hospitality (also called Manciple) with responsibility for the Catering and Conference & Events departments, in addition to the hotel-standard accommodation in its new West Court facility.

Christopher brings a wealth of experience gained in the hospitality industry – from starting his career training as a professional chef at Cambridge Regional College through to spending several years at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, initially as Concierge and then other departments as part of the Intercontinental Management Programme.

More recent roles have included Food & Beverage management at the Moller Centre and General Manager and Director at the Gonville Hotel, before joining forces with Ruth and Hans and becoming a Director of Cotto Gonville Ltd.

Speaking about his new role Christopher said: “I am very excited to be the Manciple at Jesus College as the title goes back some 400 years! It is a great privilege and a fantastic place to work where everyone is welcoming and friendly.

“I am looking forward to working closely with my heads of department to ensure we are delivering the day-to-day high standard of service and also identify ways in which we can develop to make our offering world class – preserving the past by embracing the future.”
