You're invited to celebrate the launch of The East of England China Forum on 21 November 2018, 4-6pm in the Members’ Dining Room, Houses of Parliament.
Whilst many businesses and organisations across the East of England have already developed successful links with China, many more have found it difficult to identify opportunities for closer collaboration. The wider region has until now struggled to provide China with a coherent case for greater commercial connectivity between the two geographies, resulting in it lagging behind others in the UK, such as Greater London and the North West, that for years have been actively seeking to enhance their relationships with China.
The Forum is also focused on boosting the region’s connectivity with China by stimulating the opening of new direct air routes to the country from London Stansted Airport.
The launch event will bring together likeminded business and political representatives with an interest in fostering better links with China. In addition, the Forum will be honoured to welcome a delegation of regional and local Government representatives from Jiangsu Province in China and 20 senior managers from hi-tech businesses and well-known retailers, organised through the partnership between Essex County Council and the Jiangsu Provincial Government.
