Founded in 1871, the Cambridgeshire and District Law Society represents and supports more than 900 members made up of solicitors, barristers and chartered legal executives practicing across the county. It was also involved in the recent campaign to save Cambridge Magistrates Court.
In his opening address as President, Karl said: “I am convinced that we must see our role as solicitors, barristers, chartered legal executives and judges as vocation rather than mere employment.
“My hope is that the Society will be a place where we can support each other in living out our common calling.”
Karl, who is Cambridge born and bred, specialises in private client law including Wills and probate, trusts, power of attorney and inheritance tax planning. He joined Buckles in September 2017 and is a full member of STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners). Karl was recently appointed to the Global Mental Capacity Steering Group of STEP and, in 2016, he received the STEP Worldwide Excellence Award on completion of an Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients.
He is succeeded as vice president of the Cambridgeshire and District Law Society by Michael Frape, chairman of Ashtons Legal Cambridge.
