LAIBS hosts one of UK's most successful female entrepreneurs

Over 100 local businesses attended Lord Ashcroft International Business School Chelmsford campus last week to hear advice from experienced business leaders, including Ultimo founder Michelle Mone. One of the UK's most successful entrepreneurs, Mone's keynote speech provided an insight into how she developed one of the largest lingerie brands in the world.

Lord Parry Mitchell, Shadow Spokesperson for Business, Innovation and Skills, highlighted the importance of small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to the UK economy and discussed the different support and funding opportunities available to small business owners.

Hosted by BBC Radio Essex Dave Monk, there were also presentations from Chelmsford-based business experts Team Results, Anglia Ruskin's Knowledge Transfer Manager Simon Daly, and Carole Randall, Programme Manager for the Low Carbon KEEP programme at Anglia Ruskin, which offers various funding opportunities for SMEs.

Thanks to donations from attendees, the event raised over £800 for the Essex Air Ambulance.
