The Apprenticeships Jobs Fair is open to the public and takes place at the college next Wednesday, 15 April, with vacancies ranging from engineering and childcare apprenticeships to full-time IT support and sales jobs.
Angela Hughes, head of apprenticeship programmes at CRC, said key employers in the region were supporting the fair.
“We have a lot of vacancies for apprentices right now and wanted to give job-hunters the chance to come along and meet employers face-to-face to find out more about their openings,” she said.
“There are also full-time and part-time jobs on offer in a very wide range of sectors, so there’s plenty of opportunity to find the perfect job on the day.
“We have some great employers exhibiting so even if you can’t find a vacancy that suits you immediately, it’s a chance to make a good impression on someone who could be your future boss.”
Around 20 organisations will be exhibiting at the fair, and college experts will be on hand with advice on apprenticeships and traineeships – a new option for young people not quite ready for an apprenticeship.
“The college runs one of the most successful apprenticeship programmes in the country, and we work with 2,500 employers – so we have plenty of expertise on hand,” said Angela.
“Apprenticeships offer young people an excellent opportunity to earn while they learn, gaining the qualifications that employers value and taking the first steps to a great career.
“Traineeships can prepare you for an apprenticeship, and give you work skills and experience to help you move up.”
The Apprenticeship Jobs Fair takes place at Cambridge Regional College on Wednesday, 15 April from 1pm to 4pm. For more information and to register click www.camre.ac.uk/event/apprenticeship-jobs-fair-2015/
