LEP reveals new appointments

The Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has announced two senior appointments to join their small but effective team.

Grahame Nix (pictured) has been appointed as Chief Executive and Adrian Cannard has been made Strategy and Planning Director.

Following a competitive open recruitment process, Grahame stands down from his role as Chairman to become Chief Executive of the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership. Former Vice Chair, Mark Reeve, steps into his place to become Chairman of the LEP.

Grahame is a local businessman with over 30 years’ experience, most recently working as a successful consultant and acting as Deputy Chair of Council at TWI Ltd, a £60 million technology research company based just outside Cambridge. Prior to this, Grahame was Chief Operating Officer at Marshall Aerospace and Chairman of Aeropeople Limited.

Grahame Nix said, “Having worked with the LEP and our partners over the last eight months I have been able to see the huge potential the LEP has to make a positive impact on our area. Government is challenging LEPs to do more and I am delighted to been offered this chance to focus fully on responding to this, building on the successful work we have already been doing.”

Adrian joins the LEP team having most recently worked as Head of Strategic Support at the East of England Local Government Association (EELGA). In addition to his experience as a Strategic Executive, Adrian is a Chartered Town Planner and has experience of delivering the first regional plan approved in the country at EELGA, advising the Government on more than £2 billion of infrastructure spending, and successfully drawing down millions of EU funding to the Eastern region.

Adrian will now be responsible for leading the creation of the LEP area’s Local Growth Plan and the LEP area EU Funding Strategy.

Mark Reeve, Chairman of the LEP, commented: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of both Grahame and Adrian. They are both strong additions to our existing team, and will help us to deliver the strongest possible Growth Strategy and European Funding Strategy to Government, which will in turn generate economic growth in our local area.”
