The firm has seen the arrival of two new experienced Property Disputes specialists in Solicitor, Barbara Judkins (pictured above) in Cambridge and Senior Solicitor, Anna Gora in Northampton.
Barbara has more than 15 years experience in the field. With her expertise in farming cases, Barbara is able to provide an especially valuable resource to the firm’s Agriculture, Food and Rural Business Group, which continues to go from strength to strength.
(Image removed)Property Litigation partner, John Shephard (pictured right), may be retiring from the firm this month after 36 years, but he is delighted about the way the practice has developed and the condition in which he is leaving it.
“It has been really encouraging to see how much the litigation team has grown in its capabilities over the last few years. Our disputes lawyers work together fabulously well across the firm and I believe can offer clients an unrivalled service in the region in so many fields.”
John adds: With the existing team and these new recruits, I am really confident I am leaving the disputes practice in very good shape indeed.”
In the lead up to John’s retirement, the Property Litigation team has recently hosted a seminar for professionals within the property sector with barrister, Toby Boncey of Falcon Chambers providing an update on high-profile recent cases across a range of property related topics.
Dominic Hopkins, the firm’s Head of Disputes and Litigation, reflects on the contribution John Shephard has made and the strength and the depth of the team: “John has been an exceptional lawyer. He brought me into the practice 25 years ago and I have personally benefited enormously from his wisdom, excellent judgment and company. I know he will be missed by the whole team. It is great that he can depart with the team in great shape.
Dispute resolution and litigation practice has changed enormously over the last decade and that is going to continue. The team is fully geared up to assist clients will all the options available whether the right one is mediation, litigation, arbitration or another way forward. ”
