Lloyds CEO to discuss leadership and rebuilding trust with Cambridge EMBA students

Lloyds Chief Executive, António Horta-Osório, will take questions about the future of the post-crisis banking industry when he addresses an audience of Executive MBA students at Cambridge Judge Business School next Wednesday (February 5th) at 18:00 GMT.

The future of banking in the 21st century and the culture change required to create banks trusted by society at large, will be on the agenda.

Horta-Osório will also talk about the challenges of leadership at an unprecedented crossroads in the history of banking – and about the challenges faced by Lloyds Banking Group in particular.

Director of Cambridge MBA programmes Dr Simon Learmount said one of the most high-profile bankers in the world should expect a typically robust dialogue at Cambridge:

“We are looking forward to a lively debate in the best traditions of the University. Our Executive MBA participants are themselves senior executives from around the world, who have to deal with the complexities of leading organisations in challenging circumstances. We expect Mr Horta-Osório to face a fascinating and penetrating range of questions, dealing with highly relevant issues, including the role of banks in society and the challenges of rebuilding an efficient, responsible banking industry in the wake of the financial crisis.

"Cambridge Judge Business School is pleased to provide a forum where such issues can be openly and comprehensively debated. Indeed, we have recently established a Centre for Compliance & Trust here in Cambridge, to enable us to work more closely with banks and other financial services firms to address issues such as culture change in UK and global financial institutions, bringing our educational and research excellence to bear on these critical issues."
