Dr Petyaev will present clinical and nutritional challenges in the management of lycopene and lutein - two carotenoid micro-nutrients essential to human health.
He will describe different supplementation tactics for cases of age or metabolic related deficiencies in these carotenoids, and for conditions with their depletions.
Special focus will be made, not on the restoration of lycopene and lutein concentration in the blood, which could be misleading or insufficient, but on maximising clinical efficacy of these carotenoids.
The collegial atmosphere of this conference, with programmed discussion sessions, provides a forum for scientists from different disciplines to brainstorm, and promotes cross-disciplinary collaborations between carotenoid researchers worldwide.
