Madingley Hall opens the door on new facilities

Staff at one of the University of Cambridge’s most famous landmarks are celebrating the official opening of prestigious new facilities in the grounds of the Grade II listed building.

Madingley Hall, home to the University of Cambridge’s Institute of Continuing Education and a major Conference Centre, welcomed Professor John Rallison, the University’s Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education, to cut the ribbon and declare The Courtyard Suite officially open this week (Thursday 19th April).

With a flexible and self-contained range of facilities to suit a wide range of events, The Courtyard Suite offers a large meeting area, to accommodate a total of 70 delegates theatre style which can also be divided by a soundproofed partition to give two rooms for 40 and 20 people respectively.

Other spaces include a second syndicate room which can be used for meetings for up to 30 delegates or refreshments. All areas have full disabled access, state-of-the-art AV facilities including projection and filming capability and free wi-fi. The building was formerly the Coach House to the Hall, dating back to 1740.

Ian Willis, Director of Operations at Madingley Hall said: “The new Courtyard Suite is an exciting addition to our existing facilities in the main building and is already providing popular with clients who are looking for exclusive use for their event. Not only can we provide this private high quality facility but we also have extensive on-site car parking – all in a very attractive setting within the grounds of the Hall.”

Madingley Hall, set in seven acres of historic gardens designed by Capability Brown, offers facilities for residential conferences and events, day meetings, garden parties and weddings. The main building comprises 11 conference and seminar rooms to accommodate up to 100 delegates and 62 fully ensuite bedrooms with digital TVs and internet access. Conveniently located only four miles from Cambridge, Madingley Hall is also within easy reach of the M11, A14 and London’s three airports.
