Martin Bell , sometimes known as "the man in the white suit", will be speaking about his career as a war correspondent with the BBC and how, just 24 days before the 1997 election, he announced he was standing as an Independent candidate for Tatton and won. Having been chief Washington correspondent, Berlin correspondent and also seriously wounded by shrapnel while recording a report in Sarajevo, Martin's career has included many fascinating events.

"We have no doubt that Martin will not only inform but also entertain all attendees at our prestigious annual dinner," says Simone Robinson, Head of Regional Relationships for the IoD. "With so much uncertainty within the business environment at the moment the IoD Cambridgeshire dinner will be a chance for business leaders to celebrate their successes, make new business connections and enjoy a fabulous evening."

Seats for the dinner to be held on Thursday 21 September are selling quickly - to book please email admin.cambridgeshire@iod.com
