Benjamin Britten’s famous opera work is due to run at the Coliseum, home of the ENO, on eight occasions in January/February, of which one production will be filmed and broadcast live simultaneously to over 250 cinemas nationwide on Sunday 23rd February.
MCS’ task will be mainly to help in local marketing for the cinemas, which include the major chains of Vue, Odeon and Cineworld as well as a host of independent sites.
Lloyd Hancock, MCS Creative Business Partner, says of the appointment: “This is an exciting brief for us. Not only is it taking marketing down to a local level, which means we are catering our service to individual sites, but it also demonstrates the direction the cinema experience is moving. Increasingly, cinema will not only be about Hollywood blockbusters but will also be about events being broadcast, often live, to niche audiences. As such identifying and targeting the right audiences in the right way will be key.”
