MCS creates new website for NE Suffolk Citizens Advice Bureau

MCS, the brand and digital agency based near Bury St Edmunds, has designed and built a new website for the North East Suffolk Citizens Advice Bureau (NESCAB) which serves the region from its offices in Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth and Lowestoft.

The new website, on a new domain at www.nesuffolkcab.org.uk, is a marked improvement on the previous website which had very limited content and functionality. The new site is designed to meet a number of objectives, including serving clients (advice seekers) better, to be easy to control and edit by NESCAB managers, to raise the profile of NESCAB, and to assist in partnership activity.

Examples of improvements that clients will see are very detailed advice sections where a lot of self-help information is dispensed, and the ability to request specific help by completing need-specific advice forms (this was not possible on the old site). NESCAB managers have been provided with an easy-to-use content management system (CMS) giving the charity a large degree of independence and control of the content.

Speaking of the new website, Janet John, NESCAB CEO, said, “We are delighted with the new site. This is a fantastic new resource that really puts us up there in terms of helping needy people. But it looks terrific too and is a huge improvement on our previous site. It’s also going to really help in areas such as fundraising and partnerships. Working with the team at MCS has been fantastic, their patience, technical knowledge and creativity have enabled us to have a really innovative site.  It has been a privilege to work with them.”

Richard Fullerton, Business Partner at MCS, said, “This site was a big task for MCS because of the large amount of content that had to be added. We’re really pleased with the end product, which has excellent functionality and which offers a great user experience. We designed it with a two-way conversation in mind, something that clients expect from CAB bureaux. Each page tells a story via real quotes from clients and the graphics really bring across the conversational nature and culture of NESCAB.”
