Medicom ownership: Maj Invest Equity acquires remaining shares from Bang & Olufsen

In 2006 Maj Invest Equity acquired 65% of the shares in Bang & Olufsen Medicom (“Medicom”). Bang & Olufsen retained 35% of the shares and have been part of the Board of Directors until the end of 2014.

Bang & Olufsen have now decided to sell the remaining shares to Maj Invest Equity to focus their investments on its own operations. Refer separate official communication from Bang & Olufsen.

The internal shareholder transaction does not in any way affect or change the current strategy and expansion plans for Medicom. The transaction will mean that Medicom will change its company name within a short period – not using the Bang & Olufsen brand as part of the name. The new company name and corporate identity for Medicom will be communicated as soon as this is cleared with the Board of Directors.

“At Maj Invest Equity we have always had an open and constructive collaboration with Bang & Olufsen in relation to the joint ownership of Medicom. The divestment by Bang & Olufsen will not change the strategy and plans going forward for Medicom. We remain focused on developing Medicom and continuing the very positive growth path”, states Chairman and partner in Maj Invest Equity Mads Andersen.

"Bang & Olufsen have always been a loyal owner, supporting the strategic plans for Medicom. I wish Bang & Olufsen the best of luck in their strategic development”, states CEO Morten Nielsen.
