The Conference is a one day event for engineers, software programmers and project managers working in the field of intelligent systems and devices. Consisting of an exhibition, an agenda of technical presentation and several half-day workshops, the Conference will be an important opportunity for delegates to learn about new technologies, new tools and new concepts that will influence future developments.
Although attendance at the event is free of charge, there is a £75 charge for workshop places. The workshop topics include, "Advanced Debugging Techniques" , "Writing Device Drivers", "Exploiting Smart Phone Technology" and "A Guide to the new MISRA C:2012 coding standard".
"It's shaping up to be a great event," said Richard Blackburn, Event Organiser. "The Conference has wide industry support, which has enabled us to put together an informative and stimulating agenda. We are confident that delegates will find it productive and a good investment of their time. Indeed, engineers from many of the UK's leading technology companies have already registered and booked places on the workshops."
The Device Developers' Conference will take place in Bristol, Cambridge and Manchester, providing engineers and developers with easy access to the event. Companies exhibiting and sponsoring the event include Blue Chip Technologies (Hardware), QNX and Wind River (Realtime Operating Systems), Cambridge Design Partnership (Enclosure Design), Zuken (PCB CAD) and SDC Systems Ltd (Embedded Linux tools and services). The focus of the event will be on the sharing of technical information, rather than being sales driven, with presentation relating to technical challenges and new approaches.
"We have tried to create an event that engineers will enjoy and find productive," said Richard. "We have been very picky about presentation topics, the presenters and the general format of the event. We know that engineers don't like to be sold to, they prefer to be given the data, so to speak. In this respect, I think we've done a great job and engineers will leave the event feeling that it has been worthwhile taking the day out from 'real work."
There will be a tabletop exhibition of technology and tools vendors covering products such as single board computers, operating systems, CAD Design tools, debug tools, code analysis tools, open source software solutions (Linux), networking solutions and even patent advisors.
The half-day workshops at this event will include ‘An Introduction to Advanced Debugging Techniques’, ‘An Introduction to Device Driver Development’ and ‘Getting to Grips with the new MISRA C:2012 Standard’. Presentation titles include ‘Managing The Commercial Use of Linux’ and ‘Developing Device Drivers for Embedded Systems’.

Network members receive discount for Cambridge technology conference

The UK Device Developers' Conference will be allowing Cambridge Network members a 10% discount on the cost of the half-day technical workshops that will be running at the event on May 16th.
