The Refine Edge tool will allow you to refine a selection that has already been made in Photoshop. The idea is that you can draw around a particular object as best you can, then click on the refine edge button at the top of the screen. You can then use the shift edge and feather tool to get the edge as accurate and as smooth as you can.
