The Marketing Partners Program
A large portion of Pinterest’s advertising revenue currently comes from a handful of marketing partners who Pinterest has approved. These partners earned what Pinterest dubs their “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.” These approved partners make up the Marketing Partners Program and those wishing to advertise on Pinterest do so through these partners.
So what's changed?
The Marketing Partners Program has been in use for a few years now, but recently Pinterest announced they are bringing in a number of new partners. They are adding a few new types of companies that will allow advertisers to use third-party tools to track just how big an impact their advertising plan is having. They will be able to see if the ads are actually hitting the intended audience, see if they have impacted sales, and check a number of other metrics. The following companies are now partners and have this capability:
- Adjust
- AppsFlyer
- Apsalar
- Kochava
- Tune
- Moat
New partners will also allow companies to bring in and utilize their own data as part of their Pinterest advertising campaigns. This means Pinterest ads can target characteristics and demographics that are similar to those of current customers. They will also be able to bring in current customer email addresses. The following new partners allow for this capability:
- Epsilon
- Experian
- Salesforce (Krux)
- Acxiom (LiveRamp)
- mParticle
- Neustart
Depend on a visual platform? Pinterest has become more appealing
If your brand depends on a very visual platform, and a visual platform can truly benefit any business, then these additional Pinterest partners may have you reconsidering if you will advertise on Pinterest or interest you in expanding current Pinterest advertising. In the world of advertising the more tools you have at your disposal the better, and Pinterest just got a lot more of them!
