Frances Taylor and Monika Kusiej are providing the first point of contact for those entering West Court for day meetings or residential conferences, directing delegates to the Lecture Hall or one of the other meetings spaces. Their role also includes helping with security and covering the Porters’ Lodge from time to time.
Both have extensive experience gained in customer-facing roles: Frances in retail and Monika at a different Cambridge College.
Zoe Stubbings, Conference Manager at Jesus College said: “With the opening of West Court, we needed to provide a dedicated reception service to mirror the high standard of our facilities and superior specification bedrooms. To help us achieve this, we are delighted to welcome Frances and Monika to our team. We are already seeing visitors from all over the world attending events here and the feedback on our new facilities is really positive. Providing a friendly welcome is an integral part of the experience.”
West Court comprises a multi-functional Lecture Hall equipped with the latest communications technology, which can seat up to 150 delegates; the Roost Café Bar with an outside terrace area, the Brewery Room and 30 hotel-standard bedrooms.
Alongside these facilities is the impressive Webb Library which can be used for a wide range of events from drinks receptions for 150 people to lectures for 75, the Bawden Room for smaller meetings and receptions and the oak panelled Dining Room seating up to 60 guests for dinner.
West Court enhances the facilities already offered by Jesus College for conferences and events, located in historical buildings dating back to the 11th century.
