The new SUBWAY® store has brought 15 new jobs to the area and is on a prime location next to the retail park’s cinema and night club. Roy Clouter has worked as a SUBWAY® franchisee for 8 years and identified the site in Ipswich as a prime spot for development. In addition Roy has been responsible for opening this site as the first low carbon SUBWAY® store in the country which uses low carbon technology wherever possible.
RBS has supported Roy Clouter by providing loan facilities to support the acquisition and development of the Cardinal Park site.
Roy Clouter Subway franchisee explains:“This is an exciting period of growth for the business and I am delighted to have opened Cardinal Park. This site has been six years in the making because I have been negotiating with the land agents for some time. It has been tough as a result of the recession and I couldn’t fulfil my dream with this site but now the timing is right and I am delighted to have completed the site and opened the doors to the public. It’s such a great location and Tracy from RBS has been great – supporting me with this deal and understanding my ambitions.”
Tracy Westley Relationship Manager at RBS continues: “Roy is a proven franchisee operator and I continue to be impressed with his vision and commitment to making this new site a success. He has worked extremely hard over the years and never gave in and we are delighted to have helped him to realise his goal with this site. Roy has not only brought a new retail outlet to the city along with new jobs but also highlighted his green credentials with the outlet’s low carbon commitment.”
