The panel included the current Conservative Member of Parliament for the constituency Chloe Smith and contenders:
- Jessica Asato – Labour
- James Wright - Liberal Democrat
- Adrian Holmes – Green Party
- Glenn Tingle - UKIP
Although the questions came from an audience of engineers, the subjects ranged from funding for flood defence to Norwich’s role in energy resilience, meeting the need for more housing and how to encourage more women in to engineering.
The event was staged by the Institution of Civil Engineers and the audience was made up of members of similar organisations including:
- Royal Institute of British Architects
- Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
- Institution of Mechanical Engineers
- Association for Consultancy and Engineering
- Construction Industry Council
