Onespacemedia hires new remote developer to service growing roster

Cambridge web design, development and marketing agency, Onespacemedia, has hired new developer, Thomas Phillimore - the first remote-working employee in its 10-year history.

 Thomas Phillimore

The specialist agency has seen a surge in new business recently in the life sciences and technology sectors, and set out to expand the development team to service its growing roster which includes Centre for Science & Policy (University of Cambridge) and global life sciences research organisation, Sartorius..

Thomas, who lives in Leicester, has a background in building tools and platforms that perform search engine optimisation (SEO) tasks - aggregating large volumes of data into user-friendly dashboards for a range of clients. A self-confessed computing nerd, Thomas is studying for a degree in data science and spends much of his spare time working on programmatic visualisations and Raspberry Pi projects.

Onespacemedia’s founder and MD, James Cotton, commented,“Until lockdown the team was entirely office-based, but after a successful transition to remote working across the whole business we have now adapted our recruitment model to include remote staff. I’m thrilled to welcome Tom - he has already integrated well into the team and is producing some solid work. It’s a pleasure to have him on board.”

Tom added, “OSM's experience in the technology and life sciences sectors is exciting for me and matches with my own personal interest in these industries and the breadth of innovation in Cambridge. My experience has given me the ability to understand a variety of business cases and translate them into technical products - with OSM's wide range of clients and premium product and service it feels like a great fit."
