Gridstream MDMS complements Central Lincoln’s existing smart grid investments, which include advanced Landis+Gyr meters, Gridstream RF network and a dynamic voltage management solution.
“We are pleased to expand our relationship with Landis+Gyr with the selection of the Gridstream MDMS for our smart grid operations,” said Bruce Lovelin, Chief Engineer and Manager of Systems Engineering for Central Lincoln. “When it became clear we needed a scalable MDMS to support our increase in data volume, the cloud-based Gridstream MDMS was the right fit for our operations.”
Landis+Gyr has owned and operated a network operations center for more than 20 years to provide data hosting and management services to utilities such as Central Lincoln. With Landis+Gyr Cloud Services, utilities can securely access software applications through the cloud to reduce maintenance costs and unburden IT resources.
“Offering the Gridstream MDMS via the cloud is a significant strategic initiative for the MDM solutions group,” said Dave Connaker, Landis+Gyr, president of Gridstream MDM solutions. “Our cloud offering ensures operational simplicity and a price point that ensures utilities of all sizes can benefit from an industry-leading meter data management platform.”
The Central Lincoln People’s Utility District is Oregon’s fourth-largest electric utility, serving some 700 square miles and approximately 55,000 people in portions of Coos, Douglas, Lane, and Lincoln counties.
