PA hosts recruitment event to seek additional skills for its technology team

PA Consulting Group’s Cambridge Technology Centre is on a growth mission to meet increasing client demand, with a recruitment event next week (Tuesday 11 June).

To meet increasing demand, we need skills from across the board and are looking to Cambridge’s technology hub for those skills.

A recent increase in demand from PA Consulting Group’s clients, particularly in the consumer products and innovative medical device sectors, has led to PA opening the doors of its Cambridge Technology Centre to seek new recruits and increase its technology consulting practice. The company recruited over 30 new people last year and is looking for a significant increase this year. The event will be held on Tuesday 11 June from 6-9pm.

Dave Smith, head of technology at PA Consulting Group said: “As consumers are demanding more innovative products, we need to ensure that clients’ ideas go from concept to the supermarket shelf in ever decreasing time scales. It’s not just consumers either; medical sector specialists are constantly looking to create more innovative products to meet the challenges of 21st century healthcare.

Scientists, engineers and designers at PA’s Cambridge Technology Centre have worked on game changing projects for over 50 years, ranging from first-of-their-kind medical injectors to new communication technology for London’s bus network.

More recently, PA’s technology experts were awarded the top award at the 2012 Management Consultancies Association awards for the best overall project of the year. PA worked with the MOD to urgently develop a vital new capability to protect UK troops in Afghanistan from improvised explosive devices (IEDs), hidden below road surfaces. Working with the MOD and key industry partners, PA developed ‘Panama’, a ground-breaking unmanned vehicle-based explosive device detection system that has been saving lives in Afghanistan since early 2011.

Over the past 50 years Cambridge has emerged as the UK’s leading technology base, with some of the UK’s best IT and technology companies situated around the centre. Dave Smith comments: “PA’s Cambridge Technology Centre is in an ideal location to pull in talented people who want to be part of Cambridge’s hub of technology and innovation. We’re pleased to see so much interest in people wanting to be part of PA’s world-wide team of leading experts and join us in delivering even more exceptional award winning results.”
