The visit will see Daniel getting hands-on behind the scenes at the much-loved Cambridge wholefoods shop, learning how to pack customer orders using their eco-friendly, sustainable packaging – just one of the ways Daily Bread puts people and the planet first.
Daniel’s visit is part of a nationwide celebration, taking place during the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives. The 2025 campaign theme, #CoopHeroes, highlights the inspiring stories of people whose lives have been improved by the power of co-operation.
Daily Bread is a shining example of the co-operative movement’s values in action. For over 30 years, the business has promoted an ethical lifestyle by offering locally-sourced, organic, and fairly traded goods – all while operating with a flat, democratic management structure and a deep commitment to sustainability, inclusion and social justice.
Daniel Zeichner MP said ahead of his visit: “Co-operatives like Daily Bread are the beating heart of ethical business in the UK. I’m proud to support them during Co-op Fortnight and celebrate the values that make our community stronger, greener and fairer.”
