Peter Cowley wins UK Angel Investor of the Year

Cambridge based technology entrepreneur, personal and corporate angel investor, Peter Cowley, is UK Angel Investor of the Year. This award, presented at the 2014 UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA) Angel Investment Awards earlier this month, was supported by Lloyds Bank.

This award is aimed at individual angel investors who have been very active in investing in small businesses during the past year - they can be new to investing or experienced. The award seeks to identify the investor who has not only brought their financial capacity, but also provided clear added value to their investee portfolio, offering experience, skills, and contacts and mentoring to support successful growth and potential exit.

Nominated by the Angel CoFund, the Judges felt that Peter Cowley had demonstrated long term commitment to angel investing, having made over 30 investments  to date in early stage businesses across a wide range of sectors and through a range of models including syndicates , alongside crowdfunding and through corporate venturing.

Peter has also shown extensive  support for entrepreneurship as a mentor and educator, helping to accelerate start-ups whilst taking a strong role as a proponent of angel investing, not only in the UK but internationally.
