Provoke Me designs and develops new eCommerce website for Experia

Experia is the UK's leading supplier of sensory equipment. Although its website received large volumes of traffic, statistics showed that the conversion to orders was relatively low. This was in part because the site was not easy to navigate and visitors were leaving, unable to find what they were looking for.

Provoke Me was commissioned to design and build a new website from the ground-up that would simplify the process of finding and ordering the right products.

The management team at Experia had spent a long time working out what they needed to change about the current website in order to make the structure simpler, finding the right products easier for customers and to remove any barriers which were potentially preventing orders from being placed on the site.

With this clear brief, they commissioned Cambridge web design agency, Provoke Me, to work up some creative visuals showing both how the site would look and function.

Once approved, the visuals were applied to a bespoke back-end eCommerce implementation of Magento, tailored to suit the very specific requirements of the Experia business model.

This includes three different regional versions of the site, one for UK, a second for Europe and a third for the USA. The site is fully responsive, optimised to work across handheld devices and smartphones. It also allows users to buy with credit card or to raise a purchase order requisition.

Throughout the extended development cycle, challenges have arisen, but Provoke Me's close working relationship with Experia has ensured that the outcome has been positive.

The new website has just gone live and is now taking orders, enquiries, requests for information and working hard to increase footfall and generate new business.
