The Broadland Flood Alleviation Project provides sustainable and affordable, long-term flood defences for rural communities. It protects and improves habitat for rare and endangered species and protects for some of the most productive farmland in the UK.

The Broadland Flood Alleviation Project has provided upgraded flood defences for a 30,000-hectare area of Norfolk and Suffolk and deserves to be recognised as one of the best examples of civil engineering in the country. I encourage members of the community to show their appreciation and cast their vote for the project to win.”
Members of the public can vote at www.ice.org.uk/Peopleschoiceaward until 1 December and the winning project will be revealed on 13 December. All voters will be entered into a prize draw to win a Kindle and a six-month Kindle Unlimited Membership. The public can follow award updates on social media using #ICEPeopleschoice.
In 2016, over 16,000 people across the UK cast a vote for one of their favourite civil engineering projects, with the repair of Scotland’s Forth Road Bridge winning the top prize.
