The Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK who have sadly lost their hair through cancer treatment. Aged just six and nine, Sophie and Emily have been growing their hair for the two years, in order to make a donation. They are also planning to run the junior Great North Run later this year, to raise money for children with cancer.
Reflecting on the actions of her daughters, proud parent Judith Roberts said: “To be so thoughtful towards those less well off, at such a young age is astounding and is an absolute credit to the Stephen Perse Foundation for teaching fantastic social values. As a parent I cannot tell you how proud I am. To know they think this way at such a young age gives me hope for a brighter future.”
The Stephen Perse Foundation is known for providing an education that goes far beyond exam results to provide young people with a education that has both breadth and depth. Personal and social responsibility are integral to teaching and learning across the Foundation, from Pre-prep through to 6th Form.
Principal of the Foundation, Tricia Kelleher commented: “We encourage students to understand their impact in the world. Through our approach to learning, we enthuse them with the passion and purpose to make a positive difference to others. Sophie and Emily’s sense of social responsibility is a shining example of how education is about so much more than results, tests and ticking boxes – it’s about who you become.”

The Stephen Perse Foundation is different. We prepare young people for life in an ever-changing, global and digital world. Through our global outlook we connect students to a world of inspiring opportunities.
By teaching students to think for themselves, we achieve exceptional results – but for us, education is not just about grades. We see the individual behind the results. We develop strength of character, a sense of social responsibility and an ability to innovate and collaborate.
By celebrating diversity and collaboration in school and with our wider community we encourage students to choose a path that is right for them. We recognise potential in every child and inspire young people to achieve their dreams - guiding them every step of the way.
