Pure team cycles for Chains for Change

On June 29th, two intrepid members of the Pure recruitment team - David and Nick Culley - with Callum Fairhurst, set off from Cambridge alongside cyclists of all capabilities to raise money and awareness for The Liam Fairhurst Foundation.

The charity helps young people affected by cancer, disabilities and illness across the United Kingdom. Every penny fundraised goes straight to the cause, helping incredible young people.

The charity was set up late last year by Callum and his family in memory of his brother, Liam, who passed away from cancer in 2009 aged just 14.

“Liam was an incredible young man who achieved so much in his short 14 years on this earth. I’ll never forget meeting him – nor will the many people he helped through his amazing fund-raising… Liam truly was a Child of Courage and has left the most incredible legacy through all the good works he did for young people just like him.”- Richard Branson.

Cycling up to 100 miles every day, they visited some of England’s most famous towns and cities (For rough details on the route check out the fundraising homepage – Chains for Change). En route they spoke to schools, universities and businesses,  spreading the word about the charity and encouraging them to do something for their community. Also on the ride they were joined by politicians, celebrities and the public - all of whom hopped on their bikes to raise some much needed funds for the charity.

After days of cycling and nearly 800 miles covered, they finished, by kind permission of Rt. Hon. David Cameron and Rt. Hon. George Osbourne, in Downing Street itself.

So far the cycling challenge has raised an incredible £6000 for the charity!
